The emergency financial manager for DPS, Robert C. Bobb, will be a guest speaker at WSU Feb. 24 at noon. Appointed by Gov. Jennifer Granholm in 2009, Bobb is charged with developing a policy plan for the DPS district.

He has many years of experience that highly qualifies him for the job. He was the president of the Washington D.C. Board of Education, city administrator and deputy mayor of Washington D.C., D.C. homeland security advisor and city manager for Richmond, Va; Santa Ana, Calif.; and Kalamazoo, Mich.

Topics for discussion are the trials facing the DPS district and progressive strategies to conquer them. Involved with over 120 partnerships with DPS, WSU has taken an active role. These partnerships strive to keep children in school and prepare them for a secondary education.

This event is free and open to the public. The event will be located inside Alumni House, 441 Ferry Mall. Guest parking will be available in structures 1 and 5. Exact change of $4.25 is required.
