This past Friday, Trea Day Celebrity Management and Publicity hosted a local fan and media meet and greet with two of Detroit’s hottest rap groups, Tha Paypa Boiz (pronounced the paper boys) and the legendary Outlawz.

Showing ambition and tenacity, both groups are major forces to be reckoned with, providing a breath of fresh air to the ever-so-smug rap industry.

The Outlawz, seasoned veterans in the industry and protégés of rap legend Tupac Shakur, fostered much of the Boiz’ passion for rapping and share many of the same qualities and characteristics as they do. The two groups are set to release a collaboration album called the “Outlawz & Paypa Boiz Collab Vol.1” in November. Outlaw Edi described the sound as “the ghetto gospel and music of its own entity” and said that their music is targeted toward anyone who will listen.

The Boiz are sure to take the industry by storm.

It is obvious that their rich quality production and live music set the Boiz apart from the other artists in the rap industry today. It comes to no surprise that well-known artist such as Kurupt, Elzi from Slum Village and MC Breed will be featured on the Boiz’ debut LP “Street Newz Vol. 1” which is set to hit shelves Nov. 18.

“Motown produces good music. Since we are from Motown we have to put out good music,” the Boiz’ Big Isz said when speaking about the group’s debut LP.

The album consists of a combination of East Coast, West Coast and southern style rap, which has been described by the Boiz as “Motor City boomin’ music.”

The Boiz is a name that will soon be recognized worldwide for proficient and talent-filled work once their latest single “Get Away” reaches the airwaves.

The Detroit fan and media meet and greet was an immensly successful in introducing and reacquainting the public with the Boiz and the Outlawz. Make sure to keep an eye out for Tha Paypa Boiz’ debut album “Street Newz Vol. 1” and “Outlawz & Paypa Boiz Collab Vol. 1” dropping in November. They are sure to be classics.
