The singer/songwriter/producer Raphael Saadiq has done it again with his latest CD “The Way I See It.” Saadiq’s soulful Motown sound can be heard in every song on this compilation.

He has bridged the gap between the 1960s, ‘70s and contemporary R & B. He teams up with rapper Jay-Z on the album closer “Oh Girl,” a remix that utilizes music from the ‘70s group, The Delfonics. He also teams up with music icon Stevie Wonder on the track “Never Give You Up.”

Saadiq started his career with the popular ‘80s-‘90s group Toni! Tony! Toné! In 2000, Saadiq formed the group Lucy Pearl. Saadiq has produced tracks for the likes of The Roots and Snoop Dogg. This is Saadiq’s fourth solo album and it has the leading solo track “Love That Girl.”

The music has a romantic feel. It is not a club banger, but it will definitely be a great addition to your musical library.
